We had just gotten home from work and started the process of cleaning and vacuuming out the car(s) for a 4.5 hour drive to Ottawa. Somewhere between vacuuming up a pound of Cherios and raisins from the kids car seats, Allison came over and told me Evan was sick and throwing up at day care. I went to get him and then decided to stay with him until he was well enough to travel…. hopefully the next day. The vomiting only stopped when he finally fell asleep.
All is clear and I gave him a Gravol and we started the trip. No puking…
Allison is not feeling well - has to take the day off from vacation and lay down… nausea and a general unwell feeling - she looks like she’s exhausted - but I don’t think its prudent to say anything
Everyone is felling well… all is good… so we leave Ottawa for a farmhouse stay (not a typo) we really did this. We decide to stop at my parents place but first… a nice visit and despite being a tad late the kids are doing well - until Matthew barfs after dinner. A few quick good byes and we are off to the farmhouse… just then the dog throws up in my car… horrible - words can not describe it.
Starting to think I was next in line… but nothing unusual nothing at all. Interesting start to a vacation… appears I was okay all the way to Friday (i’m invincible!)
I’m not sure how it came about - we just noticed it one day when the kids were asking why were were not having pancakes one particular Saturday morning. Allison has adopted and/or modified a wheat packed recipe and made it a ‘gluten free recipe’. Somewhere and sometime this became a little tradition. It makes my few Saturdays with the family that much more special. Yes…. the kids measure and mix them… adults cook ‘em.
